THE DICEINDEX NOTEBOOK
How We Check Our Guides
A useful guide should make it easy to see where an answer came from—and what remains unknown.
Page updated
Rules first, with a version
Publisher rulebooks are the primary reference for game mechanics. We record the language, retrieval date, document fingerprint and printed page locators. When a PDF contains spreads, we distinguish printed pages from PDF sheet numbers.
Our first guide uses the English Defenders of Hogwarts rulebook checked on 11 October 2026. Its exact publisher revision identifier is not stated; a file fingerprint is retained internally. Summaries are written in our own words, without reproducing full rules pages or a card library.
Four different kinds of evidence
- Publisher rules: what the documented mechanics say. This does not mean we have playtested them.
- Publisher-linked listing: a dated price or tier visible on a source page. A visible listing does not prove stock, checkout eligibility or delivery.
- Announced plans: estimates and future events, attributed to the source and channel.
- External opinion: an author’s review or tutorial, labelled separately and with relevant disclosures.
Unknown information stays unknown. We do not invent search volume, player reviews, ratings, “best” strategies or shipping confirmations.
Corrections and updates
A source change is checked against the affected fact, then applied to the guide and any tool that depends on it. Dates change when content is actually reviewed or edited, not automatically every day. Rule or checklist revisions use separate saved progress so old checks cannot silently complete a new setup.
11 October 2026: separated the FAQ’s autumn plan for selected MinaLima stores from the Lucca announcement’s spring 2027 wording. Both remain announcements, not proof of stock.
Create a correction note with the page, suspected issue and supporting source.
Media and commercial independence
The site uses DiceIndex graphics alongside attributed product photographs. External videos identify their creator and link to the original upload. We checked that the selected videos start playing in an embedded player on 11 October 2026; this is not a claim that we reviewed every minute or that playback is available in every region. The official rulebook remains our primary source for written rules.
No affiliate programme, advertising or paid placement is currently connected. Any future commercial arrangement will require a visible disclosure and an update to the relevant policy.
